The finding in one line

Every way a customer tries to order from your website is blocked.

Your Google profile is one of the best built we have audited, and it already ranks you number one locally for custom cakes. But the Menu button on Google leads to a dead page, your Online Menu page renders empty, and your highest-priced service, wedding cakes from $300, does not appear in local results at all. Everything below is fixable, and the first two fixes take minutes.

sweet-treatsbakery.com 4.8★ · 43 reviews #1 from Fincastle · custom cakes Fincastle, VA 24090 (540) 750-0038
A-
Google Profile
Your Google profile is strong. Your website is what is holding you back.

The profile is claimed, richly described, carries six categories and thirteen priced services, and has earned 4.8 stars across 43 reviews. The website behind it has no structured data on a single page, no photo on any shared link, no phone you can tap from the homepage, and two ordering paths that both dead-end. Google trusts the profile and cannot read the site.

losing orders today caps how you rank polish & positioning
What is already working

Most of the hard work is already done.

These are real assets. Nearly every fix below is about connecting them, not building them.

#1
At home for "custom cakes"
Searched from Fincastle you come up first. The problem is how quickly that fades with distance, see finding 04.
4.8★
43 reviews, 40 of them five-star
Reviewers name cupcakes, icing, birthday and baby shower cakes. Strong, specific praise.
6
Google categories, 13 priced services
Bakery, cake shop, wedding bakery, charcuterie, catering. Better filled in than most competitors.
The most urgent thing

Every route a customer takes to order is blocked

Three of the ways a customer tries to order from your website. All three currently fail. Calling the number on your Google listing still works, which is where your orders are surviving.

HOW THEY TRY TO ORDER WHAT HAPPENS Taps "Menu" on your Google listing one of the most-used buttons on a listing 404 error page link points to a deleted page Clicks "Online Menu" on your site the shopping cart icon on every page a blank page no products, no photos, no cart Tries to phone you from a cake page on a phone, one-handed no tappable number only on the Contact page All three verified live in a real browser, 2026-09-02.
You are paying for traffic in reviews and rankings, then dropping it at the door. These are the cheapest fixes in this report.
The ranking problem

Where you show up, and where you vanish

Same business, same profile, same town. Three searches, three very different outcomes.

SEARCH, FROM YOUR AREA YOUR POSITION "custom cakes" your core service #1 winning "wedding cakes" your highest-priced service, from $300 🚫 not shown "bakery" in Roanoke city 20 miles from your kitchen 📍 too far to rank Measured live in Google Maps, searched from Fincastle, 2026-09-02.
You are not invisible. You are invisible selectively, and the one term you are missing is the one that pays the most.
Visibility radius

We searched from nine points around you

Google shows different map results depending on where the customer is standing. So we ran "custom cakes" from a three by three grid of points about eight miles apart, centred on your kitchen.

no bakeries rural, 0 results no bakeries rural, 0 results no bakeries rural, 0 results no bakeries rural, 0 results #1 YOUR KITCHEN no bakeries rural, 0 results not listed 9 rivals here toward Salem not listed 11 rivals here toward Roanoke no bakeries rural, 0 results 8 mi north Fincastle 8 mi south ← 16 miles wide →
You rank first at exactly one of nine points: your own address. Six points are farmland where Google lists no bakeries at all. The two points with real population, toward Salem and toward Hollins and Roanoke, show nine and eleven cake businesses, and you are in neither list.
The same grid, wedding cakes

For "wedding cakes" you appear nowhere. Not even at home.

We ran the identical nine points for "wedding cakes", the service that starts at $300 and that your Google profile is already categorised for.

no results rural no results rural no results rural not listed 2 results, none you not listed YOUR KITCHEN 3 results, none you not listed 1 result, not you not listed 6 rivals, not you not listed 17 rivals, not you not listed 2 results, not you 8 mi north Fincastle 8 mi south 0 of 9
Zero of nine, including the point you are standing on. Searched from your own kitchen, Google offers a pie shop, a wedding venue and Dollar General for "wedding cakes", and not the bakery that makes them. This is your highest-priced product and the biggest single opportunity in this report.
Findings by impact

What we found

01

The "Menu" button on your Google profile leads to a dead page

Critical

Your Google listing has a Menu link, and it points at a page that no longer exists. Anyone who taps Menu from Google, one of the most-used buttons on a listing, lands on a 404 error instead of your cakes. This is losing you orders today, and it is a sixty second fix.

# GBP menu link, checked live
sweet-treatsbakery.com/cakes-%26-cupcakes 404 Not Found
sweet-treatsbakery.com/cake-flavors 200 OK ← should point here
FixIn your Google profile, edit the Menu link to sweet-treatsbakery.com/cake-flavors.
02

Your Online Menu page is completely empty

Critical

The Online Menu page, which your shopping cart icon links to on every page, renders nothing at all. No products, no photos, no prices, no add to cart. After the page fully loads, the only text on it is your copyright line and the cookie notice. A customer who clicks the cart to order sees a blank page and leaves.

/online-menu (after full load, real browser)
  visible words 25 · products 0 · images 0 · add-to-cart 0
page text: "Copyright © 2026 Sweet Treats Bakery ... Powered by"
FixEither finish setting up the GoDaddy online store, or remove the Online Menu link entirely and send people to Cake Flavors and the contact form instead. An empty page is worse than no page.
03

Nobody can tap to call you from your homepage

Critical

Your phone number is not clickable anywhere except the Contact page, and it does not appear in the homepage text at all. Someone on a phone who wants a birthday cake has to find the Contact page, then copy the number by hand. Most will not.

tap-to-call links found: /contact-me
none on: home, wedding-cakes, birthdays, cake-flavors, charcuterie,
      luxury-desserts, pies-pastries-cookies, galleries, blog
FixPut your number in the header of every page as a tappable link, and add a "Call to order" button on each cake page.
04

Your map visibility stops at your own driveway

High

We searched "custom cakes" from nine points around you, about eight miles apart. You come up first at exactly one of them, your own address. In the two directions where people actually live, toward Salem and toward Hollins and Roanoke, Google lists nine and eleven cake businesses and you are in neither list. Bakeries you have probably never heard of are taking those searches.

"custom cakes" appears at 1 of 9 points (your own address, #1)
"wedding cakes" appears at 0 of 9 points (including your own address)

toward Salem: not in top 20 · Blush Baking Co (4.9/45),
Eddies Cakes (4.5/22), Nick of Thyme Bakery
toward Hollins: not in top 20 · Nick of Thyme,
    Chasity's Confections, Kellycakes (4.3/11)
FixMap reach is earned with review volume, service-area settings and pages that name the towns you deliver to. Naming Daleville, Troutville, Hollins and Roanoke on real pages is the cheapest lever, and every fix in this report feeds it.
05

Your wedding cake page has a cookie notice as its headline

High

Wedding cakes are your highest-priced product, and the page selling them has no real heading. The only H1 on the page, the signal Google reads first to decide what a page is about, is the text of your cookie banner. Your Birthdays page has the same problem. There is no description for the search result either, the title is just "Wedding Cakes" with no mention of you or your area, and there are 286 words and three photos. That is a big part of why "wedding cakes" does not find you.

/wedding-cakes (and /birthdays)
<h1> "This website uses cookies." ← the cookie banner
title "Wedding Cakes" no brand, no location
  meta desc missing
  words 286 · photos 3
FixGive it a real H1 such as "Wedding Cakes in Botetourt & Roanoke", a proper title and description, 600+ words on flavors, tastings, delivery and pricing, and far more photos of real cakes you have made.
06

Your website never tells Google it is the same business as your listing

High

There is no structured data on any page of your site. Structured data is the hidden label that tells Google "this is a bakery, here is the name, address, phone, hours and service area." Without it, Google has to infer that sweet-treatsbakery.com and your Google listing are the same business, and your product pages carry no machine-readable prices at all. GoDaddy's builder does not add this for you.

Bakery / LocalBusiness schema: 0 of 19 pages (name, address, phone, hours)
Product / Offer on cake pages: 0 (your prices are invisible)
FAQPage on the contact page: 0 (you already answer FAQs there)
FixAdd Bakery and LocalBusiness JSON-LD matching your Google listing exactly, Product markup on the cake pages, and FAQPage on your existing questions. We can hand you the exact code to paste. Note this will not put review stars in Google results, Google does not show self-published ratings, but it does make your site and your listing unmistakably the same business.
07

Every link you share shows no photo

High

When you or a customer shares your site on Facebook, Instagram or in a text message, the preview shows a plain text link with no image. Not one page on your site sets a share image. For a business whose entire product is how it looks, and who markets on Facebook and Instagram, this is the cheapest visual win available.

og:image (the share photo): missing on every page checked
og:title present · twitter card present · og:description missing on /wedding-cakes
FixSet a share image per page, using your best cake photo for each. One setting per page in GoDaddy.
08

Your photos are on Google, not on your website

High

You have 30 photos on your Google profile. Your Birthday Gallery page holds two, with 62 words of text. Your wedding cake page holds three. Your homepage images are described properly for Google, but the cake and gallery pages are not, so the very pages meant to sell your work are much less likely to surface in Google Images, where a lot of cake shopping starts.

Google profile photos: 30
/birthday-gallery: 2 images, 0 described · /wedding-cakes: 3 images, 0 described
homepage: 29 images, 28 described (so the fix is already proven on your site)
FixUpload your own originals of those cakes onto the matching pages, and describe each one the way your homepage images already are, for example "three tier white wedding cake with fresh flowers, Fincastle VA".
09

Sixteen of your nineteen page titles say nothing about you

High

The page title is the strongest on-page ranking signal you control, and it is the blue line people click in Google. Most of yours are a single generic word. "Birthdays" and "Macarons" could belong to any bakery in the country. Three pages also have no description at all, so Google writes its own.

bare titles: Birthdays · Macarons · Holiday · Party Cakes · Wedding Cakes
Cake Flavors · Cupcake Flavors · Pastries · Contact Me …
carry your brand: 3 of 19 · missing description: /blog /contact-me /wedding-cakes
FixRewrite each as product plus place plus brand, for example "Macarons in Fincastle & Roanoke VA | Sweet-Treats Bakery".
10

Your homepage says almost nothing Google can rank

High

The title promises "Best Bakery in Roanoke VA" but the page holds about 219 visible words, much of it menu labels. There is no paragraph naming what you make, the towns you deliver to, or why someone should order from you. Google is being asked to rank a page for Roanoke that barely mentions Roanoke.

homepage visible words: 219 (competitive pages run 600-1,200)
FixAdd a genuine opening section: who you are, custom and wedding cakes, charcuterie, the towns you serve, and delivery.
11

Your site names three different towns

Medium

Your homepage title says Roanoke, your Pastries page title says Hollins, and your contact page gives a Fincastle address. Google works out where a business belongs partly from how consistently it names its own location, and right now it is getting three answers.

homepage title: "Best Bakery in Roanoke VA"
/pastries title: "Sweet Treats Bakery in Hollins, Virginia"
contact page: 4388 Blue Ridge Turnpike, Fincastle, VA 24090
FixUse Fincastle as your home town everywhere, and treat Roanoke and Hollins as places you deliver to, named as such.
12

Eight pages are not reachable from your menu

Medium

Your site has nineteen pages. Macarons, cake pops, party cakes, cupcake flavors, holiday, pastries and the galleries all exist and load fine, yet a visitor cannot reach them by clicking anything. Google can see them, your customers cannot. One of them also carries a spelling mistake in its title.

not linked from anywhere: macarons · cake-pops · party-cakes ·
  cupcake-flavors · holiday · pastries · speciality-cupcakes · birthday-gallery

typo in title: "Speciality Cupcakes" → Specialty
FixAdd the product pages to the menu or link them from related pages, and correct the spelling.
13

Your reviewers ask for things you have no page for

Medium

Your own reviews are a free keyword list. Google records what customers repeatedly mention about you, and two of the most common have no page on your site. People are telling you what to sell them.

what reviewers mention most: cupcakes 12 · caring service 7 ·
  icing 6 · birthday cake 6 · baby shower cake 5 · cake taste 5 ·
  cake design 4 · cakesicles 3 · key lime · banana pudding
pages that exist for these: no baby shower page · no cakesicles page
FixAdd a baby shower cakes page and a cakesicles page. Both are already proven demand in your own reviews.
14

Two free surfaces on your profile are going unused

Medium

Google shows a price marker of "inexpensive" on your profile while your wedding cakes start at $300, which may pull in price shoppers rather than the customers you want. Price level is partly set by Google from customer signals, so it is worth checking together whether it is editable on your account. Separately, Posts and Questions are two free spaces most bakeries never touch: Posts put a seasonal cake or an order deadline straight onto your listing, and Questions let you answer what everyone asks before they call.

GBP price level: inexpensive vs wedding cakes from $300
FixCheck whether the price range is editable, then post once a month and seed five questions: notice needed, delivery area, deposits, tastings, allergies.
Google Business Profile

Genuinely well built. A few loose ends.

This is the healthiest thing you own in search, and better filled in than most of your competitors.

Comfortably acceptable for a small business site. Loads in 2.3 seconds.

Nothing jumps around as the page loads. A perfect score.

The fix, in order

What to do, shortest path first

The first three take under an hour between them and start earning immediately.

1

Repoint the broken Menu link

Change it to /cake-flavors in your Google profile. Stops sending Google traffic to a 404 today.

1 min
2

Fix or remove the Online Menu page

Finish the store or take the link down. An empty page loses the customer completely.

~15 min
3

Add tap-to-call everywhere

Your number, clickable, in the header of every page plus a call button on each cake page.

~30 min
4

Rebuild the wedding cake page

Real headline, title and description, 600+ words on flavors, tastings, delivery and pricing, and many more photos. This is the page that unlocks your best-paying search.

~2 hrs
5

Put your photos and share images in place

Move your 30 Google photos onto the matching pages, describe each one, and set a share image so links show a cake.

~2 hrs
6

Add structured data and rewrite the titles

Bakery markup carrying your rating, then a product plus place title for all nineteen pages.

~2 hrs
7

Add the pages your reviews ask for

Baby shower cakes and cakesicles, plus a real homepage introduction naming your towns.

ongoing
8

Claim the wedding directories

The Knot and WeddingWire are where engaged couples in Roanoke shop for cake, and they are separate from Google. We could not confirm from the outside whether you are listed, so it is worth checking both, plus Bing Places and Apple Maps, which most small bakeries never claim.

~1 hr

You are closer than most businesses we audit.

The profile is built, the reviews are earned, and you already rank first for your core service. The work left is connecting that to a website Google can read and a customer can order from, starting with a broken link and an empty page.
